About Upstart

Upstart Filmworks was started by Mel House in the late 90's as a vehicle to produce his first few video and film projects, including some marginally amusing videos for his then-band, and a few shorts that (with hindsight) are frankly embarrasing. Over the course of the next decade, Upstart Filmworks has grown considerably, taking on video projects for high profile commercial clients as well as providing support and equipment for several independent shorts, music videos, and feature films. You'll find examples of Upstart's work all over the world, from film festivals to cable channels to direct-to-DVD releases. Currently, Upstart Filmworks is able to provide complete turnkey production support (from pre-production through post-production and duplication), equipment rental, and consultation. Not bad for a company named after an obscure bunch of X-Men villains.
